Terms of Service

Written to be read, not survived. These terms are the agreement between you and Skater when you use this site. If something here is unclear, ask in the Discord before you trade rather than after.

Version 1.2 · Effective 9 September 2026

1. What this service is

Skater is a marketplace where people buy and sell Roblox limited items for money. We hold the buyer's payment until the item is delivered, and release it to the seller once the buyer confirms it arrived.

We never take custody of an item. Your limiteds stay in your own Roblox account until you trade them to a buyer directly, so nothing you own is ever sitting in an account we control and could lose.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Roblox Corporation in any way. “Roblox” is used only to describe what is being traded.

2. Roblox's rules, and your account there

Trading Roblox items for real money is against Roblox's Terms of Use. Roblox may suspend or permanently terminate any account involved, including yours, and may remove items from it. This can happen without warning and cannot be appealed by us.

You accept that risk yourself. We are not responsible for anything Roblox does to your account, your items, or your access to their platform as a result of trading here — and we cannot recover an item or an account that Roblox has taken.

Decide whether that is acceptable to you before you trade. If it is not, do not trade.

3. Who may use Skater

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher, to hold an account or trade here.

If you are under that age, you may not use this service, and you may not use it through somebody else's account. If we learn an account holder is underage we will close the account and return any balance to its source.

We ask for your date of birth when you create an account and keep it. It is locked once set — if it was entered wrongly, ask staff rather than editing it.

Until you have verified a Roblox account, the total you can commit across the service is capped at $100. Verifying removes the cap, takes a few minutes, and never involves your Roblox password.

Money you spend here must be yours to spend. If you pay with a card or account belonging to someone else, you must have their permission first — a chargeback filed by a parent or partner is still a chargeback, and we will pursue the loss from the account that caused it.

One person, one account. Accounts used to inflate prices, evade limits, manufacture a delivery record, or dodge a suspension will be closed.

We will never ask for your Roblox password or your .ROBLOSECURITY cookie. Nobody here needs it. Anyone who asks is not us, whatever their name or picture says.

4. Money we hold

Balances held here are not a bank deposit, earn no interest, and are not insured or protected by any deposit scheme. They exist to settle trades on this site and nothing else.

Sale proceeds become withdrawable after 72 hours. We may hold funds longer, or reverse a credit, where a payment is disputed, a trade appears fraudulent, or we are required to by law — and we will tell you why when we do.

Crypto payments are irreversible once confirmed. Sending the wrong amount, the wrong coin, the wrong network, or omitting a required memo can lose the payment permanently. We cannot recover it and are not liable for it.

We may refuse or reverse a transaction we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, unlawful, or made on behalf of a sanctioned person or jurisdiction.

Balances left behind. If an account sits untouched for two years with money in it, we will email the address on the account before doing anything. If we still hear nothing, the balance is handled the way the unclaimed property law of the governing jurisdiction requires — which usually means it goes to the state, not to us. Ask for it back at any point before that and you get it back.

Tax is yours. What you make selling here may be taxable where you live. We do not withhold tax, do not give tax advice, and do not file anything on your behalf. If we are ever required to report payments to a tax authority we will, and we will tell you.

5. When a trade goes wrong

If a seller misses the 12-hour delivery window, the order is held for staff review and the failure is recorded on the seller's public record. No ticket is needed.

If an item is delivered but is not what was listed, open a ticket in Discord before trading it onward. Once a limited has moved again we cannot unwind it.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved between the two parties, staff decide based on the terms recorded on the trade, the delivery record, and the conversation in the ticket. That decision is final as far as this service is concerned. We are a marketplace, not a court: we can decide who gets the money we are holding, and nothing beyond that.

Deliberately failing deliveries, reversing payments after receiving an item, or using the middleman service to run a scam will get your account closed and your balance held while we establish who is owed what.

6. Refunds

A buyer is refunded in full whenever the item is not delivered. That is the whole point of us holding the money: if the trade does not happen, the payment goes back where it came from.

In practice that means:

  • The seller misses the delivery deadline — the order is held for staff review, and unless the seller can show it was delivered you are refunded in full
  • The seller cancels, or their account is closed before delivering — refunded in full, automatically
  • The item delivered is not the item listed — open a ticket before trading it onward, and staff decide based on what was recorded
  • You changed your mind after receiving the item — not refundable. A delivered limited cannot be un-traded, and we are not able to take it back

Refunds go back to your Skater balance, from which you can withdraw. We do not reverse the original crypto payment — the network cannot do that — so a refund is a credit here rather than a return to the wallet you paid from.

Card payments are different only in timing: a refund to a card is processed through the card network and can take several working days to appear, which is the bank's schedule and not ours.

There is no time limit on a refund we owe you. If we are holding money for a trade that never completed, it is yours whenever you ask.

7. Things you must not do

Using Skater, you agree not to:

  • Trade anything obtained by hacking, phishing, chargeback fraud, or from an account that is not yours
  • Use the service to launder money, evade sanctions, or move the proceeds of crime
  • Impersonate staff, another trader, or anyone else, on this site or in Discord
  • Create additional accounts to evade a suspension, a limit, or a delivery record
  • Interfere with the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or automate against it in ways that degrade it for others
  • Agree a trade here and then move it off-platform to avoid fees or the delivery record

If you find a security problem, tell us in Discord. We would far rather hear it from you than from somebody who used it.

8. Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account, and refuse service to anyone, where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, where we are required to by law, or where continuing would expose other traders to loss.

If we close your account and you are owed a balance, we will return it once any open trades and disputes are settled, unless we are prevented from doing so by law or the balance is itself the subject of a dispute.

You may close your own account at any time once you have no open trades.

9. What we do not promise

The service is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, that every trade will complete, that item valuations shown here are accurate, or that the other party to your trade will behave honestly.

Item values, RAP figures and demand ratings are drawn from third-party sources, are provided for information only, and are not a valuation, an appraisal, or advice. Decide what something is worth to you before you trade.

We are not a bank, a broker, an investment service, or a custodian of your items. Nothing here is financial advice.

10. Limits of our responsibility

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. This paragraph is set apart and in capitals because several jurisdictions will not enforce a warranty disclaimer unless it is conspicuous. The rest of these terms are written to be read; this one is written to be noticed.

To the fullest extent the law where you live allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or the loss of a Roblox account or the items in it.

Where we are found liable to you for anything arising out of your use of Skater, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount we were holding for you at the time or the fees you paid us in the previous three months.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded where you live. If a clause here is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the rest still applies.

11. Covering us for what you cause

If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did — trading stolen items, breaking Roblox's rules in a way that reaches us, using the service unlawfully, or breaking these terms — you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses we incur as a result.

12. Changes

Fees and limits are shown on the fees page and can change. Changes apply to trades made after the change, never retroactively to a sale already agreed.

We may update these terms. The version and effective date at the top of this page tell you which set you are reading. Material changes will be announced in the Discord before they take effect, and continuing to use Skater afterwards means you accept them.

We may pause listings, purchases, deposits or withdrawals if something is going wrong. That switch exists to stop damage spreading, and we would rather use it and explain afterwards than let a broken state run.

13. Things outside our control

We are not liable for failures caused by things we do not control: Roblox changing or removing their platform, a payment provider or blockchain going down, an internet or hosting outage, or an act of government. Where such a thing stops us performing, our obligations pause rather than fail — money we are holding stays held and is settled once service resumes.

If someone else takes over. We may transfer this agreement if the service is sold or merged. Your balance and open trades transfer with it, and we will tell you before it happens. You may not transfer your account to anyone else.

This page is the agreement. These terms, and the fees page they point to, are the whole of it. Something a staff member said in Discord is help, not a change to this contract — if a promise matters, get it written into the terms of your trade where the ticket records it.

14. Someone else's property

If you believe something listed here infringes your copyright or trade mark, tell us at legal@skater.limited with enough detail to identify the listing, what you own, and how to contact you. We will remove anything that plainly infringes and tell the seller why.

Accounts that repeatedly infringe are closed. If you think something was removed wrongly, reply and say so — we would rather relist a good listing than leave it down.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that reaches a court will be heard in the state or federal courts sitting in Georgia, and both of us agree those courts have jurisdiction.

That does not take away a right you cannot sign away. If the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally, or applies protections these terms cannot override, that law wins over this paragraph.

Before starting any formal claim, contact us in the Discord and give us a fair chance to resolve it. Most things that look like a legal problem are a misunderstanding about who confirmed what, and the ticket history usually settles it in an afternoon.
